The Knights' medieval citadel, dominated by the towers of the Palace of the Grand Masters, forms the centre of the Old Town. Moats and two miles of walls surround this medieval cas-tle. Eleven gates give access to the Old Town, which is divided into the Collachium (the Knight's quarters) and the Bourg (houses the rest of the population). As one of the finest walled cities in existence, the Old Town is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Palace of the Grand Masters permanently houses the Medieval Rhodes and Ancient Rhodes Exhibitions. Both of these exhibitions can be seen as part of a tour of the Palace of the Grand Masters. The medieval exhibition covers Rhodes from the 4th century AD to the Turkish conquest of 1522, and the ancient exhibition details 45 years of archaeological investigation on the island with a stunning collection of finds.

At the beginning of the present century this Island was the Capital of the Dodecanese Islands and the world's largest Sponge-fishing center. Today it is an idyllic Island with beautiful Neoclassic Houses, traditional architecture and pebbled Courtyards.

With the morning ferry we depart for Kos.

Kos is located next to the Gulf of Gokova. The island measures 40 kilometers (25 mi) by 8 kilometers (5.0 mi), and is 4 kilometers (2.5 mi) from the coast of Bodrum, Turkey. The principal town of the island and seat of the municipality is Kos town. The island has a population of 30,947.

Kos is a combination of traditional and modern and today’s visitors are not only interested in the past : the sun, the clean sea, the lovely sandy beaches and the panoramas will also attracted those interested in the present.

Enjoy a day trip around the island of Kos and admire the island’s beautiful countryside. We will start our tour with the visit of the Asklepieion, the first hospital of the scientific medicine and then proceed through the lovely villages, amazing landscapes and beautiful sandy beaches. You will admire the superb views from Zia of Mount Dikeos, walk through the narrow streets, see the water mills and the small church, gather some leaves of basil, thyme and mint and browse the shops for a hand-crafted souvenir. Later you will ease your thirst at the spring of Pyli and have a look towards the Kardamena resort. We leave Kos by ferry to Kalymnos… This Island is synonymous with world Sponge-Fishing. The picture that springs to mind is when you think of this Island is of a pier with caiques moored against it. This is a picturesque harbor, an island with beautiful beaches and clear sea water. They exert an immediate attraction to the visitor.

Or to Patmos… Jerusalem of the Aegean is one way of describing PatmosPatnos, as it was referred to in a 5th century inscription. It was here that St. John the Theologian was exiled between 95 and 97 A.D. and was inspired to write the Book of Revelation. The islands shape and its 63km coastline offers a wide ion of beaches, from sandy and organized shores with umbrellas and beach bars to solitary coves. The choice of whe-re to enjoy some of the clearest, refreshing and tranquil waters of the Aegean Sea is yours. If you're arriving with a private boatsimply renting one, you're in for an unforgettable experience and not only on our island, for Patmos has many small and larger neighboring islands making short distance excursions enticing .

Half Day Monastery Tour : The picturesque harbor is dominated by the imposing Monastery of St. John standi on the hill above.

Leaving Skala harbor, you take a drive to the impressive village of Chora. The Monastery of St. John is situated amongst gleaming white houses forming a startling contrast to its dark mass. The Blessed Christodoulos, Servant of Christ, built the Monastery in 1088. The courtyard is laid with pebbles and orated with arches through which one can see the intricately designed frescoes adorning the chapel entrance.

The museum houses a magnificent collection of jeweled calices, crowns and crosses, icons and religious paintings including an original El Greco.

The tour then continues with a visit to the Grotto of St. John taking the form of a 17th century Monastery built around the cave whe-re St. John lived for two years (95-97AD) during his writings of the Apocalypse. Inside on can see the stone which he is said to have used as a pillow. Half Day Patmos Highlights : The tour visits the Cave of the Apocalypse home to the birth of the Book of Revelation, the last book in the Holy Bible. In 95AD, at the time of the persecution of the Christians, St. John was exiled to the Island of Patmos whe-re the vision of the Revelation was revealed to him in this small cave which has now become a place of worship and an important destination for pilgrims.

On leaving the Cave we drive to the old village of Cho high on the hilltop whe-re one will have the opportunity to photograph the breathtaking panoramic view over the island and discover the stunning architecture of houses dating from the fifteen to eighteen hundreds.

Chora, the islands capital, houses the 11th century Monastery of St. John the Theologian. Here one can get a glimpse of monastic life and absorb timeless history through the magnificent ecclesiastical artifacts of its museum.

From the Monastery we walk through the winding cobbled streets of Chora to the house of Simandiris. Here we will have the unique experience of seeing the interior of a traditional Patmian house along with antique

furniture, embroidery, and paintings collected over 8 generations of the Simandiris family members.

Before returning by coach to the port of Skala we conclude our tour with a walk through Chora and browse the open air shops.

Overnight in KalymnosPatmos

If you stayed overnight in Kalymnos : ferry back to Kos from whe-re you will take the last flight to Athens for overnight near the airport.

If you stayed overnight in Patmos : ferry to Pythagorion (island of Samos) from whe-re you will take the last flight to Athens for overnight near the airport. 

As there are no airports on Kalymnos nor Patmos, this is unfortunately the only way to get you back on mainland Greece… unless we change the sequence of the islands which may result in some precious time loss…

Finally, if your home flight on day 8 is late enough, you may consider to spend a last overnight on an island.
