The ANCONA-CESME and CESME-ANCONA Ferryline will no longer be operated as a direct line ! With this, there is no direct ferry connection beteen Italy and Turkey. Yet, you still have the possibility to sail between these two countries (same length of time than the direct line yet with more connection possibilities and more departures per week) as per below : a) From Venice or Ancona or Brindisi or Bari to Igoumenitsa or Patras b) From Igoumenitsa you only have a six hours' drive to Istanbul From Patras, you drive three hours to Athens port, Piraeus (along the coastal road) c) From Piraeus you take an overnight ferry to any of the following islands (depending on your final destination in Turkey) : Lesvos, Chios, Samos, Kos, Rhodes d) Finally from these islands you have a ferry connection with Turkey ie, - Lesvos to Ayvalik or Dikili - Chios to Cesme - Samos to Kusadasi (vehicles not allowed on this line) - Kos to Bodrum - Rhodes to Marmaris or Fethiye
All the above ferry lines - including the Italy-Greece ones - can be booked on-line via www.feribot.net
